Privacy Policy for Bakerate
David Perez, trading as miraiapps.de (“we,” “our,” or “us”), built Bakerate, which requires a Bakerate Pro subscription or one-time purchase to use. This Privacy Policy explains what information Bakerate collects, and — just as importantly — what it doesn’t.
By using Bakerate, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Information We Collect
Information you create in the app
Bakerate stores your recipes, bake logs, favorites, and app settings only on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and nothing you enter in Bakerate is sent to us or to any server. If you delete the app or lose your device, this data is gone — we have no copy and cannot recover it for you.
Information collected by our subscription provider
Bakerate requires a Bakerate Pro purchase (subscription or lifetime), processed through the App Store and managed by our subscription infrastructure provider, RevenueCat. When you open the app, RevenueCat’s SDK contacts its servers to check and update your subscription status. This involves:
- Purchase history — RevenueCat receives your App Store transaction/purchase receipts to verify your Bakerate Pro entitlement.
- A device/app-installation identifier — used only to associate your purchase with this install of the app, not to identify you personally.
RevenueCat does not receive your recipes, bake logs, or any other content you create in the app. We do not use this data for advertising, and it is not shared with data brokers.
Information collected by our analytics provider
Bakerate uses TelemetryDeck to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used (for example, which screens are visited or whether a bake was logged) so we can improve it. TelemetryDeck is built for privacy: it does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and does not require Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Each install is identified only by a random identifier generated on your device, which is cryptographically hashed before it ever leaves the device and cannot be used to re-identify you personally.
Information we do NOT collect
- No account creation, no email or password
- No crash-reporting SDK
- No advertising, no ad identifiers (IDFA), no cross-app tracking
- No location, camera, photo library, contacts, or health data access
- No data is sold, rented, or used to build advertising profiles
2. How We Use Information
The purchase-verification data described above is used exclusively to:
- Confirm whether Bakerate Pro is active on this installation
- Let you restore a previous purchase on a new device via the App Store’s restore-purchases flow
The anonymized usage signals described above are used exclusively to understand, in aggregate, how Bakerate is used so we can decide what to fix or improve next — never to identify you individually.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information. The third parties involved are:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat | Subscription/purchase verification | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Apple (StoreKit) | Processes all payments | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| TelemetryDeck | Anonymized product-usage analytics | telemetrydeck.com/privacy |
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of David Perez (miraiapps.de), our users, or the public.
4. Data Retention
Recipe and bake-log data lives only on your device for as long as the app is installed, and is removed when you delete the app. Purchase-verification data is retained by RevenueCat, and anonymized usage signals are retained by TelemetryDeck, each per their own retention policy — see their privacy policies linked above.
5. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA / DPDP)
Data controller: David Perez, trading as miraiapps.de, Ettalstr. 9, 81377 München, Germany — contact info@miraiapps.de. Full business details in our Impressum.
Because Bakerate does not collect personal data beyond the purchase-verification and anonymized usage information described in Section 1, there is no account data for us to export, correct, or delete on request — your recipes, bake logs, and settings never leave your device in the first place. If you have questions about the data RevenueCat or TelemetryDeck hold, you can:
- Request access to or deletion of that data by contacting us at info@miraiapps.de, and we will forward the request to the relevant provider
- Contact RevenueCat or TelemetryDeck directly using the process described in their respective privacy policies
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — for Germany, the competent authority for Bavaria-based controllers is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA)
Lawful basis for processing: the purchase-verification data described in Section 1 is processed under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract — verifying the Bakerate Pro purchase you made) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligations, e.g. tax/commercial recordkeeping around the purchase itself, which Apple as merchant of record handles). The anonymized usage signals sent to TelemetryDeck are processed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest — understanding and improving the app), balanced against minimal privacy impact since the data is anonymized on-device before it is sent and is not used for tracking, advertising, or profiling. We do not process any data on the basis of consent.
6. Children’s Privacy
Bakerate is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because the app requires no account and collects no personal data, there is minimal risk to children’s privacy; if you believe a child has purchased Bakerate Pro without authorization, contact Apple for a refund through their standard process.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes (for example, if we add cloud sync in a future version). We will update the “Last Updated” date above and, for material changes, note them in the app’s “What’s New” release notes.
